What our guests say

9th - 16th March 2013

We booked ‘Glenfruin Lodge’ to escape our hectic lives and relax – this cottage was perfect for us!  Loved coming back here each evening and getting the log fire burning, very relaxing indeed.

We found this location perfect for visiting this area – we headed up to Oban, Inverary and various places along the way to Stirling.  Did a few walks around Loch Lomond.  A drive up the A817 (Loch Lomond – Helensburgh) is a must – most definately the best scenery!  We spent an afternoon Geocaching nearby through ‘Balmaha Muir’ forest – again a lovely view at the top.  If anyone fancies fish and chip supper, then we recommend ‘The wee kelpie’ in Helensburgh!

Overall, a beautiful cottage (great attention to detail, especially the shower!), thank you for making us so welcome – we’ll be sure to come back!

Our first trip together to Scotland to celebrate our 12th Wedding Anniversary.  We were blessed with beautiful sunny weather all week.

Our thanks to Craig & Alison for a very homely Lodge.  We have been able to relax and enjoy Scotland knowing we had this lovely Lodge to come back to each night.

Four days of dry weather!

Three days of clear skies and crisp sunshine!

Two days good walking!

One good pub! (the Loch Lomond Arms at Luss)

Lovely little cottage (Glenfruin Lodge), warm and cozy. Will come again.

Thank you Craig & Alison for a great stay at the beautiful Glenfruin Lodge.

Everything was perfect for recuperation and relaxation after our stressful previous week.

Perfect central location for anyone visiting this part of Scotland.

Spotted the robin and eagle from the patio doors, but sorry not to meet Shaddow (your cat) who seems from previous comments to be quite a star….! maybe next time as I’m sure we’ll be back.

We’ve had a wonderful and very relaxing week here at Glenfruin Lodge.  It was a very special place in which to spend our ‘honeymoon’.  The card and sparkling wine were much appreciated on our arrival.

Despite the rain and fog in the early part of the week we enjoyed some beautiful drives and managed to get some walking in.

The Lodge is lovely and very comfortable and we’ve enjoyed some cosy nights in together.

Thanks for a great stay!

We’ve loved our stay, celebrating Hogmanay at Crosskeys Cottage!

Our arrival on a dark, damp evening, after a 7 hour journey was made extra special by the wee surprise left for us under the Christmas tree – Thank You!!

By the time we get home, we will have travelled 1,000 miles! but we saw and did loads…..

On one of the days we climbed Conic Hill and drove along the road that stops at Inversnaid – ‘the’ best drive of the week – spotted mountain goats, owls and deer and even a stag! The views across the loch here are amazing and the falls at the end make the 15 mile adventure worth it.

We’ve had the most amazing stay here.  The cottage is beautiful, cosy, warm and comfortable and we’ll be recommending it to our friends.

Many thanks, hope to see you again sometime….

21st - 28th December 2012

We have just enjoyed a very special and memorable Christmas here at Glenfruin Lodge.

We found the accommodation more spacious and luxurious than we expected and the log burning fire added to that warm, cosy, Chrismassy feel.

We enjoyed walks around Loch Katrine and Balloch Castle and visited Luss to reminisce about our wedding there 6 months earlier!

Luss/Loch Lomond will always be special to us and having enjoyed such a lovely property our happy memories are increased further.

Thank you!

30th November - 2nd December 2012

We have enjoyed a lovely stay at Glenfruin Lodge – the weather has been beautifully cold, crisp and sunny with frosty mornings.

The warm & cosy lodge has been perfect after cold days!  We would thoroughly recommend a trip to see pucks Glen near Dunoon – a magical gorge walk.

Thank you for providing this great place to stay.

2nd - 4th November 2012

We have enjoyed a lovely couple of nights here infront of the log burner.  The Lodge is perfectly equipped with everything we could possibly need and more…

Freddy really enjoyed playing with the toys and listening to the stories.  Most of all he enjoyed ‘trip-trapping’ across the little bridge over the stream.

We enjoyed a walk around picturesque Luss on Saturday.

Thank you, Paul, Alice, Freddy (aged 3) and Jasmine (aged 1)

29th October - 2nd November 2012

We’ve had a lovely few days at Glenfruin Lodge and we have been lucky with the weather considering the time of year.

We had a beautiful walk around the banks of Loch Katrine and a village walk around Luss which was very pretty.  We drove through dramatic views to Inverary and stopped at Loch Fyne for a delicious lunch of oysters, mussels and smoked salmon.  It has been wonderful to return to the comfortable and cosy lodge each evening.

Thank you for a lovely break, hopefully we’ll be back soon.
