What our guests say

Fourth Year!  Had a great stay.

See you Christmas 2018.

Thanks for the gifts…

Cheers, Jim & Frances Kelly

30th December 2017 - 2nd January 2018

Thank you so much for letting us book your gorgeous, cosy little cottage (Crosskeys cottage) so last minute.  It was perfect for the quiet, relaxed mini break we wanted to bring in the new year.  The Christmas decorations were also a lovely touch.

We didn’t do much exploring of the local area, but the sealife centre is worth a visit for a few hours and has a lovely view of Loch Lomond from the café.

Wishing everyone every happiness for 2018!

We had a great stay here in a beautiful area.

Loved it!

We enjoyed a very interesting week around Loch Lomond.  Crosskeys Cottage suited us just fine, enjoyed the comfort of the wood burner.  The cottage being well equipped.  Alison & Craig being very helpful all the week.

Spent a very enjoyable 2 hours at the farm, (Auchindrain folk village) where time has just stood still for many decades.  Eddie MacCallum the last tenant of the small farm retired on 1962, the farm and cottages are just frozen in time.  Well worth a visit if that’s your interest, extremely humbling.  Auchindrain is on the A83.

Good food at the Duck Bay Marina next to Cameron House.  Commodore at the front of Helensburgh not too bad.  An interesting drive over the mountains opposite Loch Tay, but scary very narrow roads, scenery excellent.  Snow on the high hills on the Sunday.

We have had a lovely honeymoon here (Glenfruin Lodge), especially being greeted with a  bunch of flowers and a bottle of Prosecco!  Thanks Craig & Alison.

Cottage is perfect and there is everything you could need.  We would recommend walking up Conic Hill as the views of the loch were stunning!  Luss was a lovely stop off on the way to Inveraray and you get some great views up on the mountains.  We enjoyed a coffee at Cameron House – very fancy!  We also managed to go to Hill House before it closed for the season, worth a visit if you are a fan of Rennie Mackintosh.

Thank you for having us!

October 2017

Had a lovely holiday.  This cottage (Glenfruin Lodge) was very sweet and perfect for our needs.  Fire is fantastic, kitchen and bathroom had everything we needed.  Disappointed we didn’t meet the cat though!

Recommend checking out the Sugar Boat (restaurant) in Helensburgh – absolutely amazing food, fantastic cocktails & lovely staff.

16th - 19th October 2017

We enjoyed our short break very much.  The cottage is very clean and comfortable (Crosskeys Cottage), and everything you could need was provided.

It’s a great location for site seeing too!

Thank you very much!

A very comfortable & well decorated cottage (Glenfruin Lodge).  It had everything you needed in such a beautiful location.  Would have loved to have stayed longer.

This was a lovely cottage (Glenfruin Lodge) and we would definitely stay here again when back in Scotland.

Craig & Alison – if you do ever make it to Banff to ski, we’d be happy to show you around Calgary.

30th September - 7th October 2017

We have had a lovely week here, cottage was ideal (Glenfruin Lodge), very cosy and well equipped.

Not surprisingly the weather wasn’t always on our side but a few recommendations:

– walk up Conic Hill – lovely views at the top even with a bit of rain and lots of wind.

– Three Loch forest drive – very picturesque.

– Loch Lomond sea life aquarium for a rainy day.

– Scalpsie bay on the Isle of Bute to see a seal colony – beautiful island.

– Pucks Glen for a gorgeous gorge walk.

Also strongly recommend Fruin Farm (opposite) for dinner, lovely food, great owners and staff.  Very accommodating of a noisy 9 month old.

A thoroughly enjoyable week, we will be back to explore more…
